Sometimes, it appears as the seconds of your life heading for their evaporation,
then it feels like the life force pulsing vibrantly through every cell of your being
The depth of the abyss meeting the peak of bliss
And a glimpse into nothingness and annihilation that feels like liberation
But you can’t get there, can’t get this
There’s some sublime pain and grief that you feel as transience breathes through you, as you
And all of what you hold dear and familiar
And love
And there’s relief that transience also breathes through the heaviness, the pain and grief
And that it makes you and this life a vibrant, fluid, seamless experience
Unowned, untouched, unharmed
You all are this volatile appearance
That seems to emerge as birth and dissolve as death
That is love and abandonment
That is the nurturing family and the loss on the battlefield
Impermanence devours the love and the slaughter
And distorts them until they’re indistinguishable from each other
Not knowing beginning and end
The eyes of your beloved
Your reflection
Contours blurring, vanishing
Your hand grasps nowhere
Trying to touch this face
First, you cling to memory,
And transience warps it,
Trauma and nostalgia
Until they turn into oblivion
And liberation
The innocence of nothing
Ever happened
Ever to happen
Your tears of grief merge into tears of joy
Just tears
And laughter
And love
And gratitude
